What it is
Automation around FortiManager: provisioning devices, capturing baseline configuration, and running configuration workflows through its JSON-RPC API instead of the web UI.
Why it exists
Repeating the same configuration by hand is slow and easy to get subtly wrong. Automating it makes the result repeatable and gives you a record of what changed.
How it works
- Talks to FortiManager over its JSON-RPC API.
- Provides helpers for creating and provisioning devices.
- Captures baseline snapshots so drift is visible.
- Wraps calls with error handling, because API failures need to be surfaced rather than ignored.
Notes
- The hard part isn’t the API calls; it’s making the workflows safe to re-run.
