Project

Healthcare Kubernetes (independent)

Kubernetes infrastructure for medical-grade environments, independently architected and implemented as a contractor.

What it is

Kubernetes infrastructure for medical-grade environments, designed and built independently as a contractor: choosing the architecture, implementing it, and delivering working platforms.

Why it exists

These environments needed Kubernetes infrastructure built and operated to healthcare standards, but without a large internal platform team to design it. That made it a role of owning the architecture end to end rather than fitting into an existing one.

How it works

  • Clusters designed around the reliability and security needs of the environment.
  • Supporting infrastructure — networking, storage and the services the clusters depend on — built alongside the clusters themselves.
  • Emphasis on environments that could be operated and recovered by the team responsible for them.

Notes

  • Client work, so specifics are kept general.
  • Working without nearby mentors shaped how I approach unfamiliar problems: carefully, and by understanding the system rather than pattern-matching.
